Give an outside translator exactly one language, and nothing else

The reason companies still mail spreadsheets around is that the tool makes it all-or-nothing. Scope the invitation instead, and the freelancer you hired for Polish sees Polish.

Three roles

Manager

Runs the scope they are given: invites people into it, enables locales, approves and reverts.

Translator

Writes translations and marks them reviewed. Cannot change the English source or the structure.

Viewer

Reads and comments on the work. Free on every plan — a reviewer should never be a billing decision.

Scoped, not global

The same three roles, granted at whichever level fits. An agency gets a platform; a freelancer gets one project.

WORKSPACE Your team Every app, every language. PLATFORM Translation agency One app, all of its languages. PROJECT Polish freelancer One variant, one language. Every query is scoped to the organisation that owns the data, and a test suite exists solely to prove it.

And when someone leaves

  1. 1Erase, do not deleteAn admin erases a user: name, address and password are overwritten and the account can no longer sign in.
  2. 2The history survivesTheir edits stay in the record under an anonymous marker, so the audit trail does not develop a hole where a person used to be.
  3. 3Their invitations die with themInvite and reset links are single-use and expiring, stored only as a digest. A copy in an old inbox is worth nothing.

Viewers and reviewers never count towards the bill. Only editors do.
